community
A seeker of true fulfilment should ask deep questions of any community. Groups tend to give answers rather seek understanding and promote hierarchies, sometimes implicit, sometimes not, but always present. It’s a core tension of the human experience, the need for freedom jostling with the need for connection. The latter usually wins out and fails to deliver the former. To borrow a justifiably famous quote from Men in Black ‘A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it.’
Groups have rules. Some are open and some are not. It’s the unspoken boundaries, the roles, the things you cannot say, that define if a group is operating for the growth of the members, or to perpetuate itself and feed egos. If someone breaks an explicit rule there is a reprimand; however when the implicit system is breached, exile for the member is usually the outcome. Humiliation and banishment. Think of the shuddering silence, the eyes that say, ‘You can’t say that here!’ when an unspoken boundary is crossed, a challenge is made. The empowered person feels these lines and walks boldly over them, curving and warping the subtle geometry of consensus.
I aim to build something different. Groups that are resonant, self-organising and continually reflective. A community without any agenda other than the empowerment of its participants. This community will support you to find and walk your own path to freedom. And challenge you to move beyond self-deception, fear and inauthenticity. To become who you know yourself to be, not a just a good citizen.
You will be coached on powerful principles of transformation, creating relationships and a group foundation that will last. You will develop a personal plan and the group will support you in your progress.
Coaching in our groups is a stripping away of education. Beginners mind, fresh alive and present. Nothing makes me sadder than sensing someone afraid to ask something, afraid to challenge.

Irreverence is a lovely word and much needed in life. A community should have fun. Have a debate, have a dance and laugh at yourself a little. Come alive.
